Hip pain can cause significant disability, making it difficult to perform even regular everyday activities like walking and climbing stairs. Plus, hip pain often radiates into the lower back, buttocks and leg, resulting in widespread pain that can take a toll on sleep and overall health and wellness. Lund Chiropractic is a leading provider of state-of-the-art hip pain treatment, helping patients from throughout the Encinitas area get the care and treatment services they need for their specific symptoms for long-term relief and improved musculoskeletal health.
Lots of factors can cause hip pain, including being overweight, standing for long periods of time, slip-and-fall accidents and other accidents, carrying unbalanced or very heavy loads, leading a sedentary lifestyle, and even lifestyle issues like poor posture or wearing ill-fitting shoes. Lumbar stenosis (stiffening of the lower spine) and arthritis in the hip or spine can also cause hip pain, as can disc-related issues like sciatica. Pregnancy is another common cause of hip pain. In pregnancy, the expanding and increasingly heavy belly pull the lower back and hips out of alignment, resulting in uneven strain on the joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. And like other types of joint pain, hip pain becomes more common with older age.
In addition to pain in and around the hip and groin area, problem with the hip joint or lower back can cause radiating pain, numbness, tingling and pins-and-needles sensations in the buttocks and legs, and over time, muscle weakness and loss of coordination may also develop. While some mild types of hip pain may resolve on their own, other causes can progress to more serious stages, which is why it’s so important to have hip pain evaluated as early as possible.
Hip pain treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms along with a physical exam to determine the source of pain. Spinal adjustments in the lower back and hip area can provide significant relief for many issues involving the hips, back and neck by realigning the vertebrae and the discs to relieve disc compression, nerve impingement, and the irritation and inflammation those conditions can cause. Deep tissue manipulation and massage can also help by promoting circulation and lymphatic draining for faster healing. Gentle therapeutic stretching and exercises can also help promote circulation and improve flexibility in the joint. Because chiropractic services are focused on the patient’s whole health, you’ll also receive lifestyle guidance aimed both at promoting healing and at helping you prevent hip pain from occurring in the future.

I started coming to Dr. Lund a few months ago. I have improved so much. I have never let better! I have no more PMS!! I am a lot calmer and I look and feel more relaxed. If you don't believe me, ask my husband.
Dr Lund is a great chiropractor. Besides the ease of scheduling and a clean office, his skills are unmatched. I have been to 7 chiropractors in different parts of the country, and none have been as effective as Dr Lund. He doesn't have you come in and do some elaborate first time visit full of X-rays or tests, but listens well to your concerns, feels your problem areas and adjusts you quickly. In minutes you are in and out with no stress and feeling 100% better. Don't waste your time looking for another chiropractor, just call him..
Professional, polite, proactive, delightful. Having back pain since a child I sceptically decided to go to a chiropractor at age 40 (my back pain was not acceptable anymore). Dr Lund explained the cause & affect of my back pain & surprisingly why I may I also be having intestinal issues that my body/back is trying to accommodate for. He has a good bed side manner yet is firm with his advise (ie: try harder & do daily back exercises). I needed that.
